5 Pore Minimising Skincare Products To Try Out Before The Year Ends

Pore Minimising Skincare Products

You'd realise you're actually "ageing" when you look into the mirror and go, "What are those pores doing on my skin?" Well, that was me a while back when I noticed that my previously inconspicuous pores decided to make an appearance and apply for permanent residency on my nose, and the inner corners of my cheeks.

While I understand that no skincare products can permanently get rid of them, some can reduce the appearance of enlarged pores. From clay masks to ampoules, below are five pore care products that I've tried and tested, and that will help you achieve a flawless-looking face.

1. Benefit Cosmetics' The POREfessional Deep Retreat Mask

Every day, our skin faces environmental aggressors, such as UV rays and impurities, on top of the humidity that we Singaporeans encounter almost daily. These factors easily lead to the production of oil, which in turn, can result in clogged pores, and the formation of blackheads and acne.

To give your pores a thorough cleanse, use Benefit Cosmetics' The POREfessional Deep Retreat Mask to draw out the gunk inside them. Thanks to ingredients such as kaolin clay, which clears pores, and sea fennel extract, which minimises excess surface skin oil, your skin will feel smooth, clean, and mattified.

The Benefit Cosmetics' The POREfessional Deep Retreat Mask (30ml) retails at $35 at Sephora.

2. Paula's Choice's Pore-Reducing Toner

Niacinamide is an ingredient that needs no introduction. It brightens skin, reduces inflammation, improves dullness, and most importantly, minimises enlarged pores.

That's why when the ad for Paula's Choice's Pore-Reducing Toner, which features niacinamide as one of its key ingredients, appeared on my FYP, I thought about giving it a try.

I wasn't disappointed, and I definitely felt that the toner has helped even out my skin tone, and renew my skin after cleansing.

The Paula's Choice's Pore-Reducing Toner (190ml) retails at $39 on Paula's Choice's official website.

3. Luvum's Pore Reset Tightening Ampoule

An ampoule with sebocytine, an extract from rosehip fruit, will reduce the excessive secretion of sebum oil and smooth out the skin, all the while tightening the pores. Get acquainted with Luvum's Pore Reset Tightening Ampoule, which boasts a definitive pore-tightening effect and evens out skin texture.

The Luvum's Pore Reset Tightening Ampoule (30ml) retails at $37 on Ksisters' official website.

4. La Roche-Posay's Effacular Ultra Concentrated Serum

Get this 92% of those who've tried La Roche-Posay's Effacular Ultra Concentrated Serum mentioned that their pores were less visible after using it for a fortnight. While the serum is best for acne-prone skin, it is also suitable for those with oily combination skin to tap into its benefits of soothing skin irritation, tightening the skin barrier, and brightening dark spots.

La Roche-Posay's Effacular Ultra Concentrated Serum (40ml) retails at $59.90 on Guardian's official website.

5. Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser is an ambitious product. It removes oil and dirt, minimises pores, exfoliates, and softens your skin without stripping away natural moisture. What impresses me the most is the use of Amazonian White Clay, an ingredient gathered from the mouth of the Amazon River in Brazil, which draws out excess oil and detoxifies the skin.

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser (150ml) retails at $44 on Kiehl's official website.
